Christopher Sucato is the Associate Director for Biophysical Characterization at Charles River Laboratories. Prior to joining Charles River as part of the acquisition of Blue Stream Laboratories, he led the biophysical group at Blue Stream. Dr. Sucato was a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award fellow in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics at Boston University, where he developed nanoparticle-based agents for the early detection of biomarkers in inflammation. His research experience includes characterization of protein–protein and protein–nucleic acid interactions by a range of techniques, and the evaluation of kinetic interaction constants. Dr. Sucato earned his PhD in chemistry/biochemistry from the University of Southern California

Cynthia Swanson
Associate Research Scientist
Charles River Laboratories
Cynthia Swanson has been an associate research scientist in morphometry and stereology at Charles River since 2016. She initially became interested in image analysis while working on cell proliferation studies at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology. During her career, Cynthia has performed numerous studies utilizing image analysis, stereology, and now artificial intelligence/deep learning. She earned her MS in veterinary microbiology from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
