Dr. Boddapati brings more than 13 years of formulation development experience in the biotechnology industry to Catalent Cell and Gene Therapy. At Catalent, Vijay is leading the Formulation and Drug Product Development group for the gene therapy business unit. His development team is specialized in formulation development, characterization, stability assessment, drug product development, extractables and leachable assessment, and other aspects of drug product development and delivery related to viral vectors, proteins, peptides, nanoparticles, and vaccines. Before joining Catalent in 2019, Vijay spent more than 10 years at Novavax, Inc., with his most recent role as an Associate Director. He was primarily working on formulation development while also supporting cross-functional chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) activities on all Novavax projects. Vijay received his PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from Northeastern University in Boston where he developed liposomes functionalized with molecules targeted to deliver molecules to the mitochondria within cells.
