Thermo Fisher
Dr. Julia Baek obtained her PhD in Chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she worked on discovery of small molecules to inhibit protein–RNA interactions and detection of oligonucleotides in solution using fluorescent probes. In the same year she joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as an R&D Scientist. She has developed and introduced to the market multiple High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) consumable products used in the characterization of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and oligonucleotides. These include Thermo ScientificTM CX-1 pH Gradient Buffers, MAbPacTM SCX-10 RS columns, MAbPacTM HIC columns, and DNAPacTM RP columns. Currently she continues to develop new columns and consumables for the analysis and characterization of challenging biomolecules at the Sunnyvale, CA site.
