Sanjay Kumar, PhD is currently the head of technical excellence at Lonza Bioscience Media Solutions. In this role, he serves as a customer-facing subject matter expert (SME), collaborating closely with customers and internal Lonza teams to ensure the customers receive the best possible experience with Lonza products. Dr. Kumar brings nearly 25 years of experience, with half of it in industry, and a passion for discussing science and solving problems. Prior to Lonza, he led the custom cell engineering services team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he worked with customers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable steps to be executed by his scientific team.

Nikki Nogal, PhD

Nikki Nogal, PhD brings more than twenty years of experience in pre-discovery through the lifecycle management of mature products, leading CMC projects that contrasted from “fast to market” or “quick to clinic.” Through this time, she gained an impressive understanding of process development and commercial manufacturing at various companies including Gilead and Genentech/Roche. Most recently, as head of process development at Abzena, Dr. Nogal oversaw the process development strategy and leveraged her extensive experience in helping clients execute on grants and contracts for the production of biopharmaceuticals (API, mAbs, vaccines, therapeutic proteins, and enzymes).

In her current role as global Director of Technical and CMC at Lonza, she provides scientific, technical, and CMC leadership for end-to-end (E2E) processes for the prioritization and value realization to advance next generation biologics.

Dr. Nogal graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering and her dctoral degree in biomedical engineering. She completed postdoctoral training at Johnson & Johnson and the University of California San Diego in Pharmacology and Bioengineering. From there, she holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the department of drug development and program management.
